Lighting the Path of Hope

Hybrid

Just as Dr. Jane Goodall has inspired young people around the world and found great hope in their actions, this event invites us to reflect on what we can do for the next generation.
Following Dr. Goodall’s keynote speech, five guest speakers active in education and community settings will join us to explore how we can move from “awareness” to “action” through engagement with youth — and how we can nurture the seeds of hope together.

After returning to Japan, he became involved in marine environmental education. In 2011, he founded the nature school TIDE POOL, providing children with opportunities to learn through direct experiences in nature. In 2017, he encountered the world of mountains and launched the Hoshiyama Project. At the forest of Hoshiyama, he continues to realize his vision of delivering hands-on, intergenerational environmental education that highlights the vital connections between the sea, rivers, and mountains.
