In June 2025, the special three-day event Inspiring Hope Through Action was held to mark the visit of Dr. Jane Goodall to Japan.
Over the three days, people of all ages and backgrounds came together to reflect on nature, life, and our shared future—to listen, to speak, and to nurture the seeds of action. From Dr. Jane’s keynote speech and public fireside chat, to powerful youth storytelling, engaging Roots & Shoots workshops, and a symbolic tree planting ceremony—this page looks back on the highlights of those inspiring days.

Planting Seeds of Hope
ユースたちの希望の種まき
This first day featured a keynote from Dr. Jane, powerful storytelling by three youth leaders, and a hands-on Roots & Shoots workshop that brought inspiration to life.
To mark Dr. Jane Goodall’s visit to Japan, the keynote event titled “Inspiring Hope Through Action” kicked off with a special youth-focused day, “Planting Seeds of Hope.”

DAY 2
Lighting the Path of Hope
希望の光を未来へつなぐ~次世代のためにできること
On her second event day in Japan, Dr. Goodall delivered a lecture titled "Carrying the Light of Hope Forward: What We Can Do for the Next Generation." Following her talk, five distinguished guests from various fields engaged in a cross-generational dialogue. Together, they explored how to empower youth, bridge the gap between knowledge and action, and nurture seeds of hope.
